Housing Lopez Village North

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, NES successfully obtained a Conditional Use Permit to construct the first phase of a multi-family affordable housing project in Lopez Village on Lopez Island. NES provided preliminary feasibility assessments and collaborated with the team’s architects and engineers to strategically configure a site plan that  avoids and minimizes impacts on the wetland-constrained site.

Sunset Village

Sunset Village in Bellingham is a subdivision that contains 47 townhomes and 13 single-family cottages. NES provided a critical areas assessment and wetland mitigation plan to obtain permits from the City of Bellingham, Department of Ecology, and U.S. Army Corps. Compensatory mitigation designed by NES included a combination of on-site wetland enhancement and establishment of an off-site advance mitigation project which has since facilitated the expedient permitting of multiple additional projects for the developer.

Single Family Development

NES has provided environmental permitting assistance for countless single family development projects throughout Whatcom, Skagit, and San Juan Counties and the incorporated cities within. Services for these projects generally include a wetland delineation, critical area report, a mitigation plan if needed, and permitting assistance to obtain local, state, and federal permits, as required. NES provides construction oversight and mitigation monitoring for many of these projects to meet permit requirements.
